I have been lucky enough to have been able to escape into imaginary worlds (mine, and other people's) from a very early age. Reading and writing has always been a huge part of what I did. I rarely shared my writing with anyone other than my close friends and family. Until...
In 2019, one delightfully mead-soaked afternoon, I sat myself down at a palm-reader at a medieval festival. She squinted at my palm and said "you have a book in you. At least one book". I had been writing since I could hold a pen and had written many novel-length pieces, but, a published book? That had always seemed so impossible. I suppose I was waiting for a publisher to trip over me in my own lounge room, whilst I sat on my couch, watching TV. That palm-reading set a question in my head: what if I worked as hard on improving my writing and getting things published as I had my day-job/day-career? Where would I be? Let's find out! My goal is to shift my writing from a much-loved, life-long hobby into a part-time, semi-professional space. How's that going? SLOWLY! But... I am learning heaps :-) I don't have all the answers yet, but I am not going to stop trying!
