How this book came to be:
I met this publisher through the GenreCon 2023 pitch program. As part of the ticket, you had an opportunity to pitch a piece to a publisher. Sort of like speed dating! This was my first ever pitch to a publisher or agent, so I was super nervous. I took a day off work, practiced for hours and then... my internet glitched and froze me out of zoom! Fortunately, I got enough across for a full manuscript request, which led to a traditional style publishing contract.
Personal dedication: The final version of this story was birthed from endless conversations with one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met, my friend NP-S. Always in my thoughts, my dear - now forever in my heart. Your footprints in this world were deeper than you ever knew and will be missed more than you would ever have imagined.

How this book came to be:
My debut novel was accepted by this beautifully supportive overseas publisher. I am so grateful for them taking a chance on me. Whilst Lust and Submission is "Book One", it is written as a stand-alone and does reach a resolution at the end - no cliff-hanger, I promise!
Book Two: Fever and Grace, IS written and the publisher did like it, but were not in a position to publish it as there were simply not enough sales on the first novel. It is so hard to get books out there in front of readers. I will continue to persevere and, you never know, maybe this or another publisher will publish Book Two down the track. Book one is enjoyable on its own, as a standalone.
Personal dedication: to all the people who were there when it all began - those tables, at that food-court in S-land, Townsville.
