I met this publisher through the GenreCon 2023 pitch program. As part of the ticket, you had an opportunity to pitch a piece to a publisher. Sort of like speed dating! I have never directly pitched to a publisher or agent before, so I was super nervous. I took a day off work, practiced for hours and then... my internet glitched and froze me out of zoom! Fortunately, I got enough across for a full manuscript request, which led to a traditional style publishing contract
