I am so grateful to have found beautiful homes for so many of my pieces. A big thank you to all the magazines and publishers that support emerging writers :-) I want to continue to learn what is marketable and to continue to improve my products and craft.
A magazine that has not featured my work previously has accepted one of my pieces for publication - most likely in their October 2023 edition.
Yay!
A fantastically supportive magazine is producing an anthology of pieces published in 2022.
They are including one of the pieces of mine they published that year :-)
Contract signed. Anticipated release date later this year.
A NEW publisher accepted three of my reprints/short stories to appear in an upcoming anthology. Contract SIGNED!
Looks like there were a few delays with the release date, but it looks like it will be OUT SOON - ebook first then paper version!

Tidal Bones (2100 words). Magazine: Carmina Magazine.
I am delighted by this fresh, gorgeous new home for this previously unpublished piece.
Read for FREE here: http://carminamagazine.com/tidal-bones.html in this super supportive http://carminamagazine.com/index.html: magazine
Tidal Bones is a darker piece - my attempt at horror/dark fiction/Australian gothic fiction. A vulnerable woman stands in the ruins of a stolen wedding dress, with cliffs all about her. Something dark watches her from the haunted bay.
Tidal Bones was inspired by the happiest days of my childhood, looking for treasures along deserted beaches.

This is another light (hopefully) funny piece that mixes the bizarre and fantastic with the mundane and every day.
Heaven-Sent was inspired by a day at the office, and a particular email habit that I find a tad challenging. Read my blog for more info :-)

Team Meet (4000 words). Magazine: Teleport Magazine. This is the second piece I have managed to have published in this magazine :-)
Read FOR FREE here: https://www.teleportmagazine.com/2022/03/22/team-meet/
And here: https://www.teleportmagazine.com/
I created this story from the angle of: could I write a reasonably tasteful story that begins with a man in a bathroom? Can I? Yes. Yes I can!
I dabble with the idea of writing a novel-length piece about these characters :-)
Lost (50 words) (Full story here)
Light etched the mountain’s spine, mist ribboned the open blades of ravines. Mary dragged bloodied nails down grooves in soft plastic. A dark house winged her back. Bare feet chilled cold nests of dew-soaked grass. Each breath hung, a fading wisp. The mountain trailed distant threads of sound:
“Benny?”
“Ben-nny!”
(Comp rules: 50 words or less, must include the words spine, open and wisp)
